The terms Cannabidiol and CBD have been trending among people for the past few years. Even though it is legal and most of them are using it for their medicinal needs, many people still don’t know how pure CBD oil is made. It is known that CBD which is available in the market is derived from the hemp plant and not from the marijuana plant. But, most people only know that much about its origin. Since it has become very popular among the people, it is better to have a little knowledge on how it is produced. There are several steps associated with the manufacturing of CBD and they are as follows.

Step 1: Harvesting the Hemp plant

It is evident that the hemp plant has a large deposit of CBD compared to the cannabis plant. It is one main reason for choosing the hemp plant for the manufacturing of CBD. In most of the states it is legal to grow hemp plant with a proper license. Therefore, the manufacturers will grow the hemp on their own or import the hemp plant from the countries that are selling pure hemp extracts for producing their CBD products. The flower and leaves of a hemp plant is the parts from which CBD is extracted.

Step 2: Extracting CBD

During this stage of production, they will extract CBD from the hemp plant that was procured during the previous stage. There are several techniques that can be used to extract CBD from a hemp plant, and the popular among those are CO2 extraction method and also the ethanol extraction method. All these methods have their special features because each method is used to derive different types of CBD like CBD isolate, broad-spectrum CBD, etc. So it is the duty of the producer to choose the most appropriate method that can extract the required type of CBD as per their needs.

Step 3: Product Development

This is the final step involved in the manufacturing of CBD oil. The products that are available in the market for the common people are not pure CBD extract. There are several steps involved in the making of those products like if it is for topical application it would have essential oils, and if it is for oral consumption it will have flavoring substances.

The above mentioned are the basic steps involved in the manufacturing of CBD oil. Even though the first two steps are common, there will be changes in the third step depending on the product that needs to be made.
